ONE YEAR OF GIVING, FOUR ESSENTIAL PROJECTS
The Auxiliary is rising to meet the most urgent needs of BC Women’s Hospital with their most recent donation of $113,450 for 2019.
This contribution is funding four essential projects that will ensure women have access to the highest quality healthcare.
THE NEXT GENERATION OF NEONATOLOGISTS
The first project will train future health leaders, through the purchase of new twin preemie simulation mannequins. This innovative technology includes a kit specifically designed to teach future clinicians how to identify congenital anomalies.. The second portion of the donation went to the which allows neonatologists like Dr. Deepak Manhas to share knowledge and skills to the next generation of specialists.

FASTER DIAGNOSIS FOR NEW MOMS
The Auxiliary also funded a new Bladder Scanner for new moms. By proactively diagnosing incontinence issues before mom and baby go home, clinicians are able to refer women to appropriate treatment that much faster. This early diagnosis can save women from months of discomfort, embarrassment, and even pain. It dramatically improves her health outcomes.
ALLEVIATING WORRY FOR WOMEN
The Emergency Support Fund helps women who are pregnant get the financial support they need to attend their medical appointments. For women from smaller communities across the province, this fund helps cover relocation costs when they need to spend part (or all) of their high-risk pregnancy at BC Women’s.
FUNDING THE FUTURE OF RESEARCH
By supporting the WHRI Endowment Fund, world-class women’s health research is facilitated in an ongoing manner.
Because of the Auxiliary’s generosity, thousands of women have received the very best healthcare when, where, and how they need it.
